Making History

On June 13th, 2016, that unforgettable day at E3 when we announced a new beginning for God of War to the world, there was a very special person sitting with us. Emmanuel Mojica Rosas is an extraordinary fan with an unwavering passion for God of War, whose story we told in a 2016 series called “Makers and Gamers”. Fast forward to now, the 1 year Anniversary of our new God of War, and what better way to bring Emmanuel’s unforgettable story full circle than by completing his journey, bringing him back to where it all started. We knew Emmanuel was trying to attain a Guinness World Record for the largest God of War memorabilia collection (he’s now at 583 items!), so we partnered with our dear friends at Guinness to help bring this amazing moment to life. It wouldn’t have been as amazing unless it had that same element of surprise that we had back in 2016, when Emmanuel had no idea he would see the debut of God of War live! So...we flew Emmanuel back out to Santa Monica Studio, and gathered over 200 people from our team in the lobby with the official Guinness World Records adjudicator, to create a moment that will live on in Santa Monica Studio lore (and in everyone’s minds) truly forever. We didn’t write this script, but by the fate of the gods it went even better than we could have ever dreamed. For Emmanuel, it has changed his life, again. And that is what we truly wanted to do. What else can we say about that? The feels, the emotion, the passion, these stories drive us beyond belief. We're extremely grateful for every fan of God of War, we can't do this without you.
